The HAPTIC PUMP uses thermochromic technology that reacts to the surrounding environment. Highlighting the boundless variations of skin tones, the shoes turn nude once heated over 27 degrees Celsius, and return back to black once cooled down.
Krisha reimagines the practical purpose of footwear, offering a radical approach to interactive clothing. The shoe no longer serves a fundamentally functional purpose. It engages with the body, creating alternative visual narratives. The idea of the body acting as a stimulus is not limited to footwear. Colour changing technology can contribute to the field of fashion, by exploring the technical properties of materials and construction. HAPTIC reconnects us with our visceral senses.
